Well guys since there nothing new about Big Shots, I just thought to have a look at the reasons behind the axing of one of our favorite shows. Well personally I feel that if the only reason behind the cancellation of a show is its poor ratings, then the producers need to get their heads checked!!! I mean, ratings do depend on a lot of things, an especially in this case, the ratings could have dropped because of the prolonged writer’s strike as well as the constant change in time slots and so many other things which can not be controlled. And I really feel that if the show had continued after the writers strike ended, it would have reached new heights of popularity. It had a lot of potential to grow both in terms of story as well as popularity. Bringing it to an abrupt end was a big mistake. I think the people at ABC are crazy to cancel a show that stood out of the league.

The show with a nice and captivating plot and adorable and talented actors left people craving for more. At the end of each episode people were left guessing as to what would happen next and this brought them closer to the characters. It not only made you laugh but also raised some serious questions that concern our society. Unlike other shows, people were interested in every character. In an era where every second show is female oriented, this was one of the very few male oriented shows. I along with most of my friends was quite upset with the cancellation of the show and would like to advice the people at ABC to bring back the show which can replace many dumb shows being aired right now.

Last week, when producer David Friendly, announced that he’s looking forward to get ‘Big Momma’s House 3’ next year. Well, the man didn’t utter any word about the script and story line but he very confidently made a statement which gave me lots of pleasure.

He confirmed that Nia Long will come back and will reprise her role along with Martin Lawrence. She will play opposite Martin as she did in the previous two movies.

Nia Long is best known for her role in ‘Big Shots’. In series, she appeared as Katie Graham, one of the leading characters. Well, it’d be great to watch her once again in ‘Big Momma’s House 3.

As of now, ‘Big Shots’ has no future so the whole star cast started moving towards some upcoming projects. As I told you in my previous post, Michael Vartan will be seen in ‘Demoted’ and now it’s also sure that Nia Long will appear in ‘Big Momma’ next release. At least, two members of star cast have signed their future projects and very soon, we’ll see some more names in this list. Most probably, the next name will be of ‘Joshua Malina’…. The man is in talks for some new movie project!

I think they people have understood the fact that moving away would be beneficial as there’s no hope of ‘Big Shots’ retrieval. It’s good to go out, before someone kicks you out!

Well, ‘Big Shots’ was unique show which gave those, a different taste, who’re fed up with the woman oriented shows. It gave a sweet explanation of male psyche. Hey! But … but, what happened with ‘Big Shots’ was very miserable and it went away just after 11 episodes. Initially, 13 episodes were planned to air, but they just summarized it after 11 episodes and two episodes were left unaired.

Hmm. You’ll never see ‘Big Shot’ once again, but yeah, you will see your favorite stars in future projects… and, t think it’d help to soothe yourself!

Wow!! My last post ‘Big Shots, Season 1 Part 1‘ got an incredible response from visitors and it encouraged me to write the second part of the post. So, I’m here to write about the remaining episodes. Last we left at ‘Car Trouble’ and now let’s begin with ‘Who’s Your Daddy‘. In this episode, we see that Duncan’s reputation comes into the way of a deal for Reveal so Duncan asks for Cameron’s help as he wants to look like a perfect dad. James tries very hard to fix up the things between his girlfriend and Katie. Brody’s father-in-law visits and no one seems happy to see him. Wendy tells Karl that she wants him to sleep with Marla so that they can have a kid and Karl has issues with her decision.

Next episode was entitled ‘The Way We Weren’t‘, Stacey decides to move to California and James puts all his attention toward a litigation when he comes to know about her decision. Karl’s old high school buddy wants to join Firmwood and he confronts him. Brody makes his mind to be a poet after he discovers hidden love poems written to Janelle by her old lovers. Then comes the episode entitled ‘The Better Man’, Lisbeth and Terrance are getting ready for their wedding. Duncan has brilliant business plans and he sets his attention to steal a super model from his competitor’s company.

On ‘Sex be not Proud‘, James and Katie disagree about their relationship when James wants to announce publicly about their relationship and she doesn’t want him to do that. Brody finds it difficult to decide what he should choose between the two options available. Someone dies on this episode. Season finale ‘Who’s the Boss’ was aired on January 24, 2008. Last episode’s death secret gets solved here and we come to know that Terrance had died. After his death Lisbeth becomes the Chairperson of Reveal. Terrance’s sister appears and it results in troubles for Lisbeth. Wendy comes to know about Karl and Marla’s affair and Marla’s pregnancy as well. Brody has a brand new pad and he doesn’t want Janelle to find about it.

After Big Shots’ cancellation, we all are not in touch with the series from several months. But it’d be really surprising if you’ll ask me ‘Who Michael Vartan is’. The man was playing James Walker on series and was liked by fans because of his performance and his appearance on Big Shots.

Well, nowadays, Michael Vartan is set to play a leading role on the new comedy ‘Demoted‘. It is written by Dan Callahan and is directed by JB Rogers for Parallel Media. Another name on the star cast’s list is David Cross. As per the latest news revealed, he and Michael will be playing rivals working at a tire store. Michael is a hot-shot sales associate who plays practical jokes, along with other co-workers, on Cross but the victim unexpectedly becomes their Boss and gets a chance to take revenge of everything.

Shooting will commence this month and I’ve also got some other celebrity names which will be added on the star-cast list. Sean Astin, Celia Weston, and Sara Foster have also been approached to work alongside Michael and Cross. Sara Foster will appear as Astin’s wife and Celia Weston will play the head secretary.

It’s big chance for Michael to shine in the show business and he must avail this wonderful opportunity. In addition to Big Shots, his other credits include ‘Monster-in-law‘, ‘One Hour Photo’, and ‘Rogue’. He, next, stars opposite Dermot Mulroney in Dan Ireland’s ‘Jolene: My life’. I don’t know about the rest of the Big Shots’ star cast, but I am really happy for Michael…. At least he has a big project after ‘Big Shots’ cancellation

Season 1 opens on 9-27-2007 and the first episode was entitled ‘Pilot’. Season opener introduces us to the leading characters on series- James Walker, Brody Johns, Karl Mixworthy and Duncan Collinsworth. Next was the episode ‘Tall Dark and Hairless’- James is determined to do whatever he can, to save his marriage and new mistrusts occur regarding the death of his former boss. In order to stop a beautiful reporter from ruining his potential career, Duncan tries to seduce her.Karl’s wife, Wendy wants Marla to join Couples’ therapy with her. Frustrated Brody tries hard to spice up his sex life with his wife.

Next episode was entitled ‘The Good, The Bad and the Really Ugly’. Here we meet James who finds that dating is not easy and he has difficulties in getting back into the dating scene. Duncan’s name is featured in Dontrelle’s (who’s been arrested) ‘Little Black Book’ and he sets his eyes on Brody to help him. Wendy has hired a private investigator and he shows her some criminative photographs. On the other hand, Cameron is offered a job by Terrance, which may not be digestible to Duncan .

On ‘Three’s a Crowd’, James is very much impressed by the new sexy consultant but Katie is not okay with the plans she has in her mind to shake things up at Amerimart. Fashion week approaches and it’s hard for Duncan to deal with monogamy. Wendy wants Karl to hang out with a company chemist named Marla. Whereas, Brody is still trying t find out Dontrelle’s Black Book. Next was the episode entitled ‘Greatest Amerimart Hero’, James’s kids are spending time with Stacey’s new boy friend and he’s worried about them. Duncan postpones his date with Lisbeth just because of blackmail and it jeopardise their relationship. On the other hand, Karl and Wendy are suggested by their therapist to have sex.

On ‘Car Trouble’, we see that Terrance and Lisbeth are getting serious and Duncan’s not happy with this and he tries to win her back.James starts developing feelings for an anchor of a TV business show. Wendy wants to have a kid and Karl gets worried with her decision.

Though the series has been called cancelled, this is not what the fans of the series wanted. If you listen to them, they still want the show back and they love it completely. They are of the view that the series was a break from all those women oriented shows and that it was good to see men in action. After all something that focuses on the psyche of men. Some have even gone ahead in calling it “desperate husbands”. Men like it as probably this could be the first one discussing their sex life. A fan has put it this way “Men. We are the new woman”. Well what more could be asked for???? The viewers, for whom the show was made, completely loved it and want more of it.

On the one hand the show was loved by its viewers and on the other hand it had to undergo the harsh comments of the critics. The critics were not all impressed with the series, and took it as a complete copy of a few already running shows. The show never received any positive comment from the critics. “People” magazine called the show one of several, “Sex and City” clones and the characters “entourage-wannabes”. USA today said “The problem with “Big Shots” is that the men don’t sound like anyone at all, male or female.”

The grass is always greener on the other side- heard the phrase????? How many of us actually think that ways- probably most of us. Always looking for what we don’t have in life. Doesn’t those big MNC’s, people holding good position, attract you, making you think that life would be so much easy for them!!! But is it actually like this, let’s have a look with the help of this TV series “Big Shots”. These high class people, their life style, Problems they have to face or probably they dig for themselves. What is life for them lets see from their own eyes…….

“Big shots” the title of the series, is basically a slang word used for very important or influential people. So, the series deals with the lives of four such very important people in their own fields, whose lives gets all messed up when a woman enters in their lives. Struggling hard to catch up with their lives, their personal lives become all the more important as compared to their professional lives.

Generally, the series have been compared to the hit series “Desperate housewives”. The only difference between the two that this was about the housewives and their all exciting, thrilling experiences. And this is about these high profile people, and their ways of balancing their professional and personal lives.

Well, the series is all about these four best friends, who are at the top position as far as their career is concerned, but are too dependent on one another, when it comes to sharing, discussing business, confiding secrets or seeking advices. They all enjoy all the benefits of holding a good position in society and engage themselves in leisure activities like sauna, pool, golf and the like. All goes well in their life, until the woman enters in their life…

James Walker, a committed husband. All his dreams of a good marriage come to an end, when he comes to face to reality. The discovery about the affair, between his wife and his dead boss, leaves him all shattered. Eventually filing in for a divorce and his taking refuge in his VP Katie.

Duncan Collinsworth, already divorced, but somehow the spark hasn’t ended yet. He plans to get back with his first wife. But things didn’t work the way he wanted. A rumor, which actually is his truth, could turn his life upside down.

Karl Mixworthy, a nervous CEO. Has a loving wife, but out of some reasons, had an affair, which he ended quickly. But his ex-mistress, who is a witty woman, enters his life again as his wife’s best friend. And on top of all, moves to his house, making things terrible for him.

Brody Johns, successful at work, but not in the eyes of his wife. Three of his friends look up to him whenever in trouble.

This is the story of “Big Shots”, almost all the characters have one or two sub plot, but the directors have made it a point to not mix their stories with each other.
