Dylan was born to Diane and Richard “Mac” McDermott. He was only five years old when his mother accidentally got killed. He was then raised by his maternal grandmother.
At the age of 17, he went to New York to stay with his father, where his step mother developed his interest in acting. She also made him join acting school and Fordham University in New York City. After Ensler, his step mother suffered a miscarriage, he took on the name Dylan—the name of her unborn child.
Dylan’s first notable onscreen appearance came with “Twister”. He became famous with his notable acting in the movie “In the Line of Fire”. McDermott was able to land his first major gig in “The Practice”, with Clint Eastwood. In 2004, McDermott starred alongside Julianna Margulies four-part mini-series The Grid. In 2007, McDermott starred in the television series Big Shots.
He was chosen by People Magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world in the year 1998. This hot looking actor has also dated Julia Roberts at one time. He was married to actress Shiva Afshar Rose, with whom he had two daughters. But now the two has filed in for divorce.
